A Unique Training Experience
Experience four immersive days of hands-on MIGS training in Advanced Gynecologic Surgery and Endometriosis Excision. This special retreat will be held during peak foliage season in Harrisville, New Hampshire, inside of the village’s historic Granite Mill.
Intended Audience
This intensive course is designed for practicing Gynecologist Surgeons and Physician Assistants who want to achieve significant advancement of their gynecologic surgical skills and broaden their skill set to include endometriosis excision.
This course is an “all-hands-on-all-the-time” manual skills and procedural training course leveraging small class size, and close “Supervised Deliberate Practice”: 1:1 attendee to station ratio (no watching, all doing), 6:1 attendee to instructor ratio (immediate help, real time feedback).

Monday, October 5: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Suturing & Knot-Tying

Laparoscopy focus
8-12p - Skills Dry Lab: Geometric Fundamentals of Laparoscopic suturing and knot-tying with application to suturing challenges.
12-1p - Lunchpail Lecture: Don't be Afraid of Monopolar energy: learning safe and effective use of electrosurgical energy
1p-2p - Procedural Wet Lab: vaginal cuff closure, ovarian cyst defect closure, oopheropexy.
2p-4p Skills Wet lab: tissue dissection
Tuesday, October 6: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Applied Suturing & Knot-tying
Laparoscopy focus
8-12p - Procedural Wet Lab: Review of Suturing and Knot-tying fundamentals with application to Real Tissue Model Myomectomy and TLH.
12-1p -Lunchpail Lecture: Changing paradigms of endometriosis surgery
1-4p - Skills Wet Lab: Site-specific excision of endometriosisReal Tissue Models
Hysteroscopy focus - (runs concurrently)
10a-4p - Procedural Wet Lab: Hysteroscopic resection of fibroids and polyps -
Wednesday, October 7: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Befriend the Ureter
Laparoscopy focus
8-12p -Skills wet lab: bilateral ureterolysis and pelvic sidewall dissection, lysis of pelvic adhesions, excision of peritoneal endometriosis (peritonectomy) with nerve sparing technique.
12-1p - Lunchpail Lecture - Endometriosis Excision Film Review #1
1p-5p - Skills Wet Lab: Dissection of the Female Pelvis - each attendee will dissect out and explore the complete retroperitoneum female pelvic anatomic simulation model.
Hysteroscopy focus - (runs concurrently)
10a-4p - Procedural Wet Lab: Hysteroscopic endometrial ablation/resection
1p-5p - Skills Wet Lab: Dissection of the Female Pelvis - each attendee will dissect out and explore the complete retroperitoneum female pelvic anatomic simulation model.
Thursday, October 8: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Endometriosis Excision
Laparoscopy focus
8-12p - Procedural Wet Lab: Excision of deep infiltrating endometriosis of bowel, bladder, ureter with defect repair. Endometrioma cyst excision.
12p-1p - Lunchpail Lecture - Endometriosis Excision Film Review #2
1p-3p - Requested individual skills and/or procedural training
230p-3p - Post course OSATS Filming of attendee specific/selected skill or procedure
Cystoscopy focus -(runs concurrently)
8a- 2p-Procedural Wet Lab: Cystoscopy and ureteral stent placement

Credits & Cost

Tuition: $3500 ($110 per CME Credit hr.)
Gynesim is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians enrolled in this course. Gynesim designates this Advanced MIGS and Endometriosis Excision Training Retreat for 32AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Clinicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
As well, diplomates who complete this approved simulation activity are eligible to receive Part IV Practice Improvement credit for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) Continuing Certification (CC) program.
Refund terms: payment in full at registration. Full refund for course cancellation. For attendee cancellation up to 2 wks prior to the course, full refund less refund costs. For attendee cancellation within 2 wks of course, 1/2 refund.
